Four alleged thieves nabbed in Rayong

Four Chinese men have been arrested in Rayong for allegedly breaking into a factory in Samut Prakan and prising open two safe boxes before making off with Bt900,000 in valuables.

Samut Prakan police chief Pol Maj Gen Thammanoon Traitipayapong told a press conference at the Samrong Tai police station that the four suspects were arrested on Wednesday at the Star Convention Hotel in Rayong.
The four suspects were identified as Huang Hua, 33, Wu Yuanbin, 33, Huang Yi, 33, and Huang Rixiang, 31.
Police seized three gold bars worth about Bt100,000, two gold necklaces and 150 bank notes of foreign currencies and 224 Thai bank notes.
The Samrong Tai police station was alerted at 1am on July 13 of the break in at the office of the Sin Sanguan and Sons factory in Tambon Samrong Tai in Samut Prakan’s Phra Pradaeng district.
The owner of the factory told police that two safe boxes had been prised open and Bt900,000 worth of gold ornaments and cash in various currencies were gone.
Police checked footage of security cameras and saw two men arrive on two motorcycles. They sneaked past the fence of the factory, entered the office of the chief executive and used crowbars to prise open the safe boxes. They fled on motorcycles with their haul.
Police learned that the suspects first stopped at a a hotel in Chon Buri before heading to Rayong where they booked into the Star Convention Hotel.
Police said they entered Thailand via the Don Mueang International Airport immigration checkpoint. They told police they bought two motorcycles to use as vehicles to drive around to look for places to break in.
But police suspect that they might have had one or more accomplices as they appeared to know exactly how to access the office where the valuables were kept. Investigations are ongoing to try to identify accomplices, if any.
