Thai student accused of supporting IS is back home
A Thai student has returned home following an arrest in Egypt on September 24 after IS-related photos were allegedly found on his mobile phone.
Chainarong Keratiyutwong, Thailand’s ambassador to Sudan with a residence in Cairo, visited the student and met with Hazem El Tahry, the assistant to the Egyptian foreign minister.
The student was released on Sunday (October 6) and returned to Thailand with the help of the Thai government and its embassy in Cairo.
