Several schools in Bangkok area were ordered to remain closed on February 26-27 by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to avoid air pollution that could affect commuting students and parents.
The Thailand Meteorological Department has forecast that from February 26-28 weak winds and lack of rains in Bangkok and its perimeter areas will worsen dust pollution, especially particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter (PM2.5).
