More stations to open on BTS Sukhumvit line in June
The Transport Ministry’s deputy permanent secretary, Phisak Jitwiriyawasin, said on Wednesday (May 13) that stations between Kasetsart University and Wat Phra Si Maha That on the BTS Green (Sukhumvit) Line extension will be open within June, while the rest of the line ending at Khu Khot station should be open by December.
The extension began working in August last year when the stations between Mor Chit and Ha Yaek Lat Phrao were opened, followed by stations leading to Kasetsart University in December.
Phisak said the Green Line expansion project is being completed in line with the memorandum of understanding given to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
He also said that the bridges removed to make way for the Green Line will be reinstalled, but not necessarily in exactly the same place.
