Hot to very hot conditions with thundershowers and gusty winds are forecast for the Northeast, the East, Central and the lower North.
People should beware of the severe conditions.
In the South, the southeasterly winds across the Gulf bring continuous rainfall.
The department said that Typhoon “Vongfong” over Philippines is moving west, expecting it to move to upper Philippines on May 15-16 with no effect on Thailand.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot to very hot, with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas and gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 22-27 degrees and highs of 35-40 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the areas, with gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 25-29 degrees and highs of 36-39 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot to very hot, with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas and gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 25-29 degrees, highs of 37-41 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Hot, with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the areas and gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1 metre during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy, with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1 metre during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-27 degrees, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot, with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 27-29 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
