The festivities are being cancelled to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“As the country is suffering a Covid-19 crisis, we have decided to suspend festivities this year to protect people,” said Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang.
The Year of the Ox arrives on February 12.
