SET gains ground as other Asian indices falter

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index closed at 1,544.11 on Friday, up 10 points or 0.65 per cent.

 

Total transactions amounted to Bt104.809 billion with an index high of 1,553.92 and a low of 1,529.83.

 

In the morning session, Krungsri Securities expected the day’s index to move between 1,520 and 1,545 points despite support for the market from the rising oil price.

 

The 10 stocks with the highest trade value today were OR, KBANK, STA, PTT, PTTEP, PTTGC, CPALL, SCB, AOT and SAWAD.

 

Other Asian indices were on the fall:

 

Japan’s Nikkei Index closed at 28,864.32, down 65.79 points or 0.23 per cent.

 

China’s Shang Hai SE Composite Index closed at 3,501.99, down 1.50 points or 0.043 per cent, while the Shenzhen SE Component Index closed at 14,412.31, down 3.75 points or 0.026 per cent.

 

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index closed at 29,098.29, down 138.50 points or 0.47 per cent.

 

South Korea's KOSPI closed at 3,026.26, down 17.23 points or 0.57 per cent.
