Heat and haze in most parts of Thailand with isolated showers
The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Tuesday that the high-pressure system covering the Northeast and the South China Sea is weakening.
Meanwhile the southerly and southeasterly winds bring moisture from the Gulf and the South China Sea to the Northeast and Central regions including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East.
Hot weather and haze during the day are forecast for upper Thailand, while outbreaks of thundershowers with gusty winds are expected in some areas.
Meanwhile, weak easterly winds blow over the South and the Gulf, causing less rains over the South.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
North: Hot weather with haze during the day; temperature lows of 13-24 degrees Celsius, highs of 33-38°C.
Northeast: Isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 21-23°C, highs of 33-36°C.
Central: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 37-39°C.
East: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 32-37°C; waves less than a metre high and a metre offshore.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with isolated light rains; temperature lows of 22-25°C, highs of 32-36°C; waves a metre high.
South (west coast): Hot weather during the day; temperature lows of 20-26°C, highs of 34-36°C; waves less than a metre high and a metre offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot weather with haze during the day, isolated thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26°C, highs of 34-38°C.
