New Covid-19 cases in Chonburi linked to Bangkok cluster

Eight new Covid-19 cases were found in Chonburi province, taking the provincial cumulative total to 667 cases.

Dr Wichai Thanasopon, Deputy Public Health Doctor of Chonburi, revealed that a preliminary report on April 4 found that the eight patients had been in contact with an infected Japanese person on Saturday. Five of the infected people had attended the same party in Bangkok (2 Thais, 3 Japanese) and two are family members.

Meanwhile, one patient had a history of travel to Samut Sakhon and is now under investigation.

The cluster in the Thonglor area of Bangkok came from partying in three entertainment venues: Krystal Club, Bla Bla bar, and Thonglor-Ekkamai Beer House. There are at least 13 cases in this cluster including a Korean man.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is now tracking visitors from March 25-30 to Krystal Club and Bla Bla bar, and Thonglor-Ekkamai Beer House to assess their risk via website http://bkkcovid19.bangkok.go.th/covid/frontend/web/ or contact Health division at 0 2245 4964.
