Bang Kapi floods still block small cars as Vibhavadi improves on Sept 28

Receding floodwater allowed all vehicle types to pass previously affected sections of Bangkok’s Vibhavadi Rangsit Road at 6.30am on Monday (September 28, 2026). Small cars remained unable to pass Bang Kapi intersection, where a separate update recorded high water at 6am.

Vibhavadi Rangsit flood-hit sections become passable

The 6.30am update identified the following locations along Vibhavadi Rangsit Road as passable to all vehicle types:

- The Chaeng Watthana toll plaza area.
- Patai Udom Suksa School.
- Vibhavadi Rangsit sois 66, 64, 62, 60, 58 and 56.
- The stretch outside the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) premises, continuing past Daily News to Yakult.

Vehicles in side streets along the affected Vibhavadi Rangsit stretch could also reach the main road again as water levels fell.

Bang Kapi flooding still blocks small cars

High water continued to affect both directions of Nawamin Road at Bang Kapi intersection at 6am on September 28. Small cars could not pass because of the safety risk and the possibility of engines stalling in the floodwater.

Motorists travelling through Bang Kapi were advised to check road conditions and water levels before setting out and exercise extra caution.

Thunderstorms forecast across 70% of Bangkok area

The Thai Meteorological Department forecasts thunderstorms across 70% of Bangkok and surrounding provinces on September 28, with isolated heavy rain. 

- Minimum temperatures: 23–24°C.
- Maximum temperatures: 29–31°C.
- Winds: Southerly at 10–25 km/h.
