The Department of Highways will open the Bang Pa-in–Pak Chong section of Motorway M6 for toll-free trial use at weekends, beginning at noon on Friday, August 21, 2026.
The new section of the Bang Pa-in–Nakhon Ratchasima motorway will be available from noon on Fridays until midnight on Sundays.
The trial service is intended to ease heavy traffic on Mittraphap Road and improve journeys between Bangkok and northeastern Thailand, particularly for people travelling home or visiting tourist destinations.
Motorists will be able to enter or leave the Bang Pa-in–Pak Chong section at five locations:
The Wang Noi and Saraburi interchanges will remain closed while preparations continue. Motorists are advised not to turn into these access points and to follow road signs carefully.
The Pak Chong–Nakhon Ratchasima section of M6 will continue operating toll-free every day, 24 hours a day.
The section supports motorists travelling to Nakhon Ratchasima and other provinces in the Northeast and remains open for both inbound and outbound journeys.
At noon on August 21, the access point near the stray-animal shelter will be closed. Motorists using the route are advised to adjust their travel plans in advance.
Although the motorway is free to use during the trial period, strict safety requirements will remain in force.
For real-time route information or assistance during a journey, motorists can contact the Department of Highways call centre on 1586, available 24 hours a day.
