HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn received a briefing on the Suranaree Force’s security mission and met families of fallen soldiers and wounded personnel
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited the Suranaree Force at Weerawatyothin Camp in Mueang district, Surin, on Tuesday (August 18, 2026), offering encouragement to bereaved military families and personnel wounded in the line of duty.
The Defence Minister, senior military commanders and military personnel welcomed Her Royal Highness.
Her Royal Highness received a briefing on the Suranaree Force's operations, including its work to maintain security and protect national sovereignty within its assigned area.
At a temporary pavilion, Her Royal Highness delivered royal guidance to the families of soldiers who had died while performing their duties and to wounded personnel.
Her Royal Highness later proceeded to the Suranaree Force headquarters to present items to the force’s unit commanders. At another temporary pavilion, Her Royal Highness delivered royal guidance to commanders of military units under the force.
The Princess also viewed an exhibition and military museum documenting the history and operations of soldiers in the area.
Her Royal Highness then planted a Phaisan Thaksin jackfruit tree to commemorate the royal visit.
The Ministry of Defence expressed deep gratitude for the visit, saying it had provided important moral support to military personnel and the families of those who had made sacrifices in the service of the country.
The ministry added that the visit would encourage personnel to perform their duties with resolve and dedication while protecting national sovereignty, national security and public safety.
