Flood alerts issued in Phang Nga, Chumphon and Ranong amid heavy rain

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) issued Cell Broadcast alerts on Friday (September 18, 2026), warning of heavy rain in parts of Phang Nga, Chumphon and Ranong, with rainfall continuing in the affected areas.
Residents in low-lying areas, along foothill slopes and in nearby locations were warned of flash floods, forest run-off, landslides and rivers overflowing their banks.
They were advised to monitor conditions, move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, secure valuables and important documents, take precautions against electric shocks and assist vulnerable people.
In Phang Nga, residents were specifically advised to move vehicles to higher ground.
The warnings covered Takua Pa and Kapong districts in Phang Nga, with Cell Broadcast messages sent to both districts.
In Chumphon, the warning covered Phato district, with messages sent to Pak Song subdistrict.
In Ranong, the warning covered Kra Buri district, with messages sent to Lam Liang subdistrict.
DDPM distributed the messages with mobile network operators AIS, True and NT.

Residents can monitor weather conditions and radar information through the Facebook pages of the Southern-East Coast Meteorological Center and Southern-West Coast Meteorological Center, the Thai Meteorological Department website and the clpp-radar website.
The Office of the National Water Resources and the Thai Meteorological Department use clpp-radar to monitor radar and rainfall nationwide and assess at-risk areas.
