Si Phang Nga National Park closes four sites over flood risks

Si Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga province has announced that four visitor attractions, Tam Nang Waterfall, Ton Deng Waterfall, Suan Mai Waterfall and Wang Pla Phluang, will be temporarily closed from September 18 to 20, 2026.
The measure is intended to protect visitors and staff following persistent rain and the risk of flash floods and mudslides.
The closure followed an announcement from the Southern-West Coast Meteorological Center on heavy rain and strong winds over the Andaman Sea.
A moderately strong south-westerly monsoon is prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the western coast of southern Thailand, while a monsoon trough lies across the South.
These conditions are bringing increased rainfall, with heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
Persistent rain within Si Phang Nga National Park in Bang Wan subdistrict, Khura Buri district, Phang Nga province, could trigger flash floods and mudslides, posing a danger to the lives and property of visitors and staff working in the area.
The park has asked members of the public and tourists not to enter any of the four sites under any circumstances until conditions return to normal.
The park will monitor and assess conditions closely.
If the situation eases and the areas are deemed safe, it will announce the reopening schedule to visitors and the public.
