IEAT orders 24-hour flood watch at Thai industrial estates
IEAT ordered 24-hour flood monitoring at industrial estates, with normal conditions reported on September 24 and at Ayutthaya sites on September 25

- Monitoring is prioritized in economically significant areas like Ayutthaya, where estates are also using continuous pumping to keep roads clear and have implemented other flood prevention measures.
The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has ordered all industrial estates under its oversight to deploy staff for 24-hour flood monitoring, although an assessment on September 24 found water conditions inside and around every estate remained normal.
IEAT governor Sumet Tangprasert said the authority was closely monitoring heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, particularly in the Central region, the North, the East, Bangkok and surrounding provinces. Priority areas included economically significant locations such as Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Samut Prakan.
Sumet said the continuous monitoring would ensure estates remained prepared and could take timely action to prevent flooding.
Continued rainfall had also replenished industrial estates’ reservoirs. Sumet cited Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, where water reserves stood at about 70–80% of capacity, increasing supplies available for the next season.
“All industrial estates under IEAT’s oversight have strictly implemented the eight flood prevention measures and conducted emergency response drills with business operators to build confidence in the strength of their infrastructure and flood protection systems,” Sumet said.
Ayutthaya estates at normal alert level on September 25
A flood situation report covering Nakhon Luang, Bang Pa-in and Ban Wa industrial estates in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, issued at 9pm on September 25, 2026, classified overall conditions at the “normal” alert level.
For river conditions, the report cited a discharge figure of approximately 1,923 cubic metres per second in its assessment of the Chao Phraya and Rama VI dams. This was well below the initial monitoring threshold of 3,500 cubic metres per second.
Water levels in the Chao Phraya River and the Pa Sak River remained substantially below the crests of the estates’ flood embankments. The report recorded the following margins:

Continuous pumping keeps estate roads clear
Heavy rain had fallen intermittently throughout the day in the Ayutthaya estates, according to the September 25 report. Pumps were operating continuously to remove rainwater, preventing standing water on roads inside the estates.
The report stated that drainage to areas outside the estates continued to function effectively without affecting neighbouring communities, while traffic in surrounding areas remained normal.
