Flooding affects 109 highway points as eight sections become impassable

The Department of Highways reports flooding at 109 locations across 19 provinces, with eight highway sections impassable and part of Motorway 7 also closed.

The Department of Highways (DOH) has reported flooding at 109 locations across 19 provinces, with eight highway sections currently impassable.

The department’s Disaster Command Centre said officials were monitoring road conditions nationwide and had identified the following eight locations where traffic could not pass:

Highway No. 1, km 258+000 to km 259+000, Takhli district, Nakhon Sawan
Highway No. 344, km 9+800 to km 10+300, Ban Bueng district, Chonburi
Highway No. 359, km 31+800 to km 32+300, Kabin Buri district, Prachin Buri
Highway No. 3076, km 130+841 to km 131+900, Tha Takiap district, Chachoengsao
Highway No. 3076, km 130+900 to km 131+900, Tha Takiap district, Chachoengsao
Highway No. 3241, km 4+100 to km 4+300, Si Racha district, Chonburi
Highway No. 3409, km 2+525 to km 2+575, Khao Khitchakut district, Chanthaburi
Highway No. 3701, km 80+300 to km 81+850, Mueang Chonburi district, Chonburi

Flooding affects 109 highway points as eight sections become impassable

The DOH has deployed personnel to assist motorists and monitor the situation around the clock.

Travellers have been advised to exercise caution, follow warning and advisory signs and check road conditions before setting out.

Motorway 7 flooded in Si Racha

The DOH’s Intercity Motorway District also reported flooding on Motorway No. 7 (M7), the Bangkok–Chonburi–Map Ta Phut route, at km 81+900 near Ban Nong Kha in Si Racha district, Chonburi.

Water from the frontage road flowed into the main carriageway, leaving both inbound and outbound lanes impassable.

Motorists have been asked to avoid the affected section temporarily while officials work to drain the water and manage traffic.

The department has also coordinated with the Central Control Building to display advance warnings on variable message signs.

For inbound traffic, motorists are advised to leave M7 at Nong Kham Interchange and re-enter the motorway at Bang Phra Interchange or Ban Bueng Interchange.

For outbound traffic, motorists should leave M7 at Ban Bueng Interchange.

The DOH urged road users to plan their journeys in advance, avoid flooded areas and follow traffic signs and officials’ instructions closely, as road conditions may change depending on local flooding.
