Five bus routes suspended as flooding hits several provinces
Transport Co says five private joint-service bus routes have been temporarily suspended because of flooding, while all of its own services continue to operate normally.
Transport Company has announced the temporary suspension of five private joint-service bus routes after persistent heavy rain caused flooding in several provinces and disrupted public transport.
The company said on Saturday (September 26) that private operators had notified it of temporary service suspensions on routes affected by flooding. The services will remain suspended until conditions improve and travel can resume safely.
The five affected routes are:
- Route 46: Bangkok–Rayong (old route)
- Route 48: Bangkok–Pattaya, minivan services only
- Routes 914/917: Bangkok–Chanthaburi–Trat, operated by Thanathawi Transport Co., Ltd.
- Route 9916: Bangkok–Wang Nam Yen–Khlong Hat
- Route 9916: Bangkok–Sa Kaeo–Aranyaprathet–Rong Kluea Market
Transport Co said all routes operated directly by the company were continuing as normal.
The company is monitoring flood conditions closely as rain continues in several parts of the country and said it was prepared to adjust service plans where necessary to protect passengers and minimise disruption.
Passengers were advised to follow weather and flood updates, plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time when heading to Bangkok’s main bus terminals, including Mo Chit 2, Ekkamai Bus Terminal, Borommaratchachonnani Southern Bus Terminal, Pinklao Bus Terminal and the Chatuchak Minibus Terminal, because of traffic congestion and flooding in some areas.
Passengers can check travel information and book BKS tickets through the Transport Co website, the BKS E-ticket application, the company’s Facebook page and LINE account @BKS99, or at BKS ticket counters nationwide.
