SRT cancels Eastern Line trains amid floods, Red Line services suspended Sept 26

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) temporarily closed sections of the Eastern Line on September 26 after heavy rain brought floodwater to rail level, forcing cancellations and changes to several services. Separately, both Red Line suburban railway routes temporarily suspended services following an unspecified fault, pending safety checks.
Three Eastern Line sections closed
SRT announced temporary closures on the following sections:
- Ban Kaeng–Sa Kaeo stations.
- Aranyaprathet–Watthana Nakhon stations.
- The section between the PTT yard and the Bangchak oil refinery branch line.
Eastern Line cancellations and shortened services
The services listed as cancelled include:
283/284, Ordinary Bangkok–Chuk Samet
281/282, Ordinary Bangkok–Kabin Buri
367/368, Commuter Bangkok–Chachoengsao Junction
389/390, Commuter Bangkok–Chachoengsao Junction
279/280, Ordinary Bangkok–Ban Khlong Luek
997/998, Excursion Bangkok–Chuk Samet
Ordinary trains 275/276, which normally run between Bangkok and Ban Khlong Luek, are operating over shortened routes:
- The service towards Ban Khlong Luek operates between Bangkok and Ban Kaeng
- The service towards Bangkok operates between Kabin Buri and Bangkok
SRT said it would inspect conditions and provide updates when the affected sections could reopen and normal services resume.

Both Red Line routes temporarily suspended
The Red Line suspension affects both routes from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal:
- Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal–Rangsit
- Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal–Taling Chan
Services were temporarily halted for safety checks following a fault.
