Two US warships with over 5,000 personnel will visit Phuket in October
Phuket police held talks with United States Embassy officials to prepare for an October 5–10 port visit, with personnel due ashore for rest and recreation.

Police welcomed Luu Pham and Robert Robinson, assistant attachés with the Force Protection Detachment at the United States (US) Embassy in Thailand, to Patong Police Station on Tuesday (September 29, 2026).
The meeting focused on preparations and coordination for the arrival of US military personnel in Phuket.
Two US Navy ships are scheduled to dock at Phuket Deep Sea Port between October 5 and 10.
They are USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77), with approximately 4,800 personnel, and USS Delbert D. Black (DDG-119), with approximately 320 personnel.
A LINE group has been established to make communication and operational coordination between the agencies easier, faster and more efficient.
Police also provided military personnel and crew members with guidance on conduct, stressing the need to comply strictly with Thai laws and regulations.
The meeting aimed to improve communication and build cooperation between Thai agencies and the US side to maintain order and facilitate the ships’ visit to Phuket.
