The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) issued Cell Broadcast alerts on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), warning of rising river levels in Kanchanaburi and heavy rain in Nan.
The warnings were sent in cooperation with mobile operators Advanced Info Service (AIS), True and National Telecom (NT).
In Kanchanaburi, water levels in the Lam Phachi River continued to rise at Ban Hin Daen station in Nong Phai subdistrict, Dan Makham Tia district.
The DDPM urged residents beside waterways and in low-lying areas, particularly in Nong Phai and Dan Makham Tia subdistricts, to monitor conditions closely, move belongings to higher levels, relocate vehicles and look after vulnerable people.
In Nan, continuing heavy rain prompted warnings of flash floods, sudden runoff from forested areas and landslides or mudslides.
Residents in low-lying areas and on foothill slopes were advised to prepare and monitor conditions closely.
The Nan alert covered Bo Kluea, Phu Phiang, Na Muen and Santi Suk districts.
It also covered Phu Kha and Uan subdistricts in Pua district, Saen Thong, Pa Kha and Si Phum subdistricts in Tha Wang Pha district, Rueang and Pha Sing subdistricts in Mueang Nan district, and Mae Khaning and Yap Hua Na subdistricts in Wiang Sa district.
People in nearby areas were also advised to remain prepared.
