Thailand has issued a flash-flood and landslide warning covering 29 districts in 15 provinces for October 11–13, 2026. Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Persvivatana announced the warning on October 11 following an assessment of heavy and accumulated rainfall.
The Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, assessed the risks in coordination with the Thai Meteorological Department. The assessment identified vulnerable areas in the North, Central region and South.
Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchart Chomklin has instructed local agencies to monitor conditions closely, issue prompt warnings and prepare personnel and equipment for immediate assistance if an incident occurs. The measures are intended to reduce risks to lives and property.
The government’s October 11–13 warning identifies the following districts, grouped into three regions:
Northern region: three provinces
Central region: two provinces
Southern region: 10 provinces
The DMR’s landslide early-warning system, known as the AP Model, has identified additional at-risk areas in several southern provinces. The department is coordinating with its geological disaster monitoring networks to track conditions and measure rainfall continuously.
The DMR is also integrating information with the Department of Water Resources, the Thai Meteorological Department and other relevant agencies to ensure public warnings are issued promptly and reflect changing conditions.
Lalida urged residents in at-risk areas, particularly communities near hills and on steep slopes, to follow official announcements closely.
The government advised residents to leave danger zones and move immediately to safe locations if they notice warning signs, including persistent heavy rain, stream water changing colour or rising rapidly, or soil moving down slopes.
