Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, acting as national disaster prevention and mitigation commander, instructed all agencies to monitor conditions closely and accelerate assistance.
Anutin directed provincial governors to address prolonged flooding by revising their plans, setting clear completion deadlines and reporting progress until conditions improved.
Anutin also ordered provincial and district authorities, local administrative organisations and relevant agencies to verify outstanding relief applications and complete the required procedures promptly. Officials were instructed to work every day without a break so payments could reach affected residents as quickly as possible.
Anutin stressed that warnings should use clear, accessible language across all communication channels. Community leaders, public-address systems and radio communications should help relay alerts to residents.
Anutin also instructed agencies to remove rubbish and obstructions from drains, canals and waterways to improve drainage and reduce persistent flooding.
The Department of Highways’ 9am assessment identified nine impassable locations in Kanchanaburi, Phetchaburi, Rayong, Chachoengsao and Prachin Buri.
The Department of Highways has deployed personnel to manage traffic, monitor conditions around the clock and assist residents until the situation improves.
