Courtrooms to be inaccessible to press and unauthorised personnel on August 7 and 14 when verdicts on Move Forward, Srettha are due

The Constitutional Court announced on Wednesday that it will tighten security at the court compound on August 7 and 14, when it is scheduled to deliver verdicts on cases against Move Forward Party and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.

It also announced that for the sake of peace and order, the courtrooms on the two days will only be accessible to the plaintiffs and defendants, as well as authorised personnel.

The court will set up a special zone to broadcast the verdict to the media and members of the public on the two judgment days.

The court said its compound will be declared a tight security zone for 24 hours from midnight on August 7 and August 14.

The Move Forward was accused by the Election Commission of doing what was deemed as an attempt to topple the constitutional monarchy.
Srettha was accused by a group of 40 now-former senators of breaching the charter and ethical standards by appointing Pichit Chuenban, who was once jailed, as a Cabinet member.
