Thai herbs take a bow

 “Thai herbs are not only precious local wisdom but also the valuable resources. The government has a master plan for Thai herb development to promote sustainability and the economic value of the herbs. At present, Thai herbal products range from health supplement food to beauty products are gaining in popularity, especially in Asia Pacific with more than 9 per cent growth per year,” says Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat, DITP’s director-general.
The exhibition is divided into four sections, the first of which showcases four product champions: turmeric (kamin chun), Thai black ginger (kra chai dum), cassumunar ginger (phlai) and Asiatic pennywort (bua bok). The other zones n featuring innovative Thai herbal products, award-winning or internationally-certified herbal products; and a herbal cafe 
“The Thai Herbal Life+Style Cafe presents Thai herbs and herbal products that are innovative and unique in quality. Through years of research and development, these products have been patented by Thai entrepreneurs,” she adds.
Protent brand presents natural fragrance-free soap with no chemical substances and is being exported to China, Myanmar, Macau and Maldives. SAPA Herbal Anti-irritation Wax Cream and Muscle Relaxant Cream contain extracts from turmeric and cassumunar ginger that help relieve muscle pain and inflammation. They are currently distributed in China and Russia. Malailux Silkworm Cocoon Soap consists of pure gold silkworm cocoon and extracts from snail slime as the main ingredients. Visitors can also find herbal heat pillows and Barricare’s mosquito repellent. which utilises Polymer Assisted Sustained and Release (PASAR) innovation to retain essential oil molecule from natural herb extract that effectively repels mosquitoes. The innovation helps the product become more resistant to temperature, humidity, sunlight and air offering more durability.
