BANGKOK, Thailand, September 1, 2026 — InterSystems, a creative data technology provider managing over one billion healthcare records globally, has highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI), interoperability, and trusted health data can improve healthcare delivery and enable smarter hospitals at InterSystems Asia READY 2026 at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok.
Under the theme “Are You READY for the Future?”, the regional summit brought together healthcare executives, clinicians, digital health leaders, and technology experts to demonstrate how connected data platforms enable practical, scalable, and trusted AI solutions that provide clinical and operational value to healthcare organizations.
During the event, Luciano Brustia, Regional Managing Director, Asia Pacific, InterSystems and Don Woodlock, President, InterSystems highlighted three priorities for healthcare transformation: establishing trusted data foundations, enabling interoperability across systems, and applying AI to real-world healthcare challenges.
Healthcare providers, including hospitals, generate vast amounts of information across electronic health record (EHR), laboratory, imaging, and administrative systems, connected devices, and other sources. When data remains fragmented, healthcare organizations can struggle to gain a complete view of patients and operations or coordinate patient care.
Interoperability helps securely connect these environments and make information more accessible and usable, providing a foundation for analytics and AI to improve clinical decision-making, care coordination, and operational efficiency.
“With interoperability, healthcare organizations across Asia Pacific are moving beyond digitization toward connected and intelligent models of care,” said Brustia. “Thailand has a strong healthcare ecosystem and a growing focus on digital health and innovation. The opportunity is to connect information more effectively and create a trusted data foundation to help organizations scale AI across healthcare to turn data into intelligence and deliver better experiences for patients and clinicians.”
InterSystems emphasized that healthcare AI should address genuine clinical and operational needs, from helping clinicians access relevant information more efficiently to reducing administrative burden and improving workflows.
“The conversation around AI in healthcare needs to move from what it can theoretically do to where it can deliver meaningful value,” said Brustia. “For AI to be useful in healthcare, it needs accurate, trusted, and contextualized information. Our focus is on practical AI that supports healthcare professionals, improves workflows, and helps organizations make better use of their data.”
Smart hospitals typically depend on multiple clinical and operational systems. Interoperability enables information to move between these environments while helping organizations maximize their existing technology investments.
“A smart hospital cannot operate effectively when critical information remains trapped in separate systems,” said Brustia. “By bringing information together through a trusted data foundation, healthcare organizations can create the environment needed for analytics, AI, and new digital services to operate at scale.”
Asia READY 2026 showcases real-world applications spanning healthcare interoperability, AI-enabled workflows, next-generation EHRs, connected healthcare ecosystems, and modern data architectures.
In Thailand, InterSystems and DataOne announced an initiative in February 2026 to establish an AI-ready data bridge between hospitals and insurers, supporting healthcare data interoperability and automated electronic claims.
