Lotus’s Go Fresh is developing its neighbourhood supermarket format with larger stores in locations suited to individual communities, aiming to provide a more comprehensive range of fresh food and family essentials.
The stores offer a wider choice of vegetables, fruit, frozen food and everyday household products, alongside in-store and online services. The expansion builds on a model that the company says has delivered strong operating results, with stores designed to make preparing meals and looking after family members more convenient.
Proximity to customers’ homes and familiarity with local communities are key strengths of Lotus’s Go Fresh. Developing larger stores therefore begins with understanding what customers need each day, from breakfast on busy mornings and ingredients for dinner to essential items for the household.
The additional space allows for a broader product range, enabling customers to buy ingredients for meals and replenish household supplies in one place. This reduces the need to visit several shops, leaving more time for themselves and their families.
Store development takes account of location, available space and local lifestyles to ensure each branch stocks products that meet community needs while retaining the familiar, friendly atmosphere of a neighbourhood shop.
Examples of the new format include the Soi Supapong branch in Bangkok, Soi Rewadee 38 in Nonthaburi, Phra Pok Klao Road in Chiang Mai, Si That in Udon Thani, Phuket Fantasea in Phuket and Pracha Suk Sawang Road in Chonburi.
The company said these branches demonstrated a model that had delivered strong operating results and provided a blueprint for developing stores around the needs of each area.
Lotus’s Go Fresh is drawing on experience from these branches to expand its larger-store format, covering store layout, product selection and services. The approach takes account of differences between communities, with the aim of becoming the shop customers turn to when preparing meals for their families or picking up essentials on the way home.
The new-format branches also provide services through Lotus’s Shop Online. Customers can choose between selecting fresh food in person and ordering food and household items for home delivery from the branch serving their area.
For customers who are busy with work, find it difficult to go out or need to stay at home to care for family members, the online service provides another way to obtain essentials without visiting a shop.
Lotus’s Go Fresh plans to continue developing larger stores in suitable locations, building on this model as it pursues its goal of leading Thailand’s supermarket market. It aims to retain the close community ties of a neighbourhood shop while offering a more comprehensive selection of food and essentials, making it easier for residents to look after themselves and their families.
