Narissara Srisan, an adviser to Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTS), attended the launch of Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2026, a World Capital Marathon event, at Toyota Alive Convention Hall.
The ceremony was chaired by Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and attended by Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok; Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand; Prodpan Samanmit, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand; and Pol Maj Gen Thawat Wongsanga, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, together with representatives from the public and private sectors.
Their Majesties the King and Queen have graciously bestowed 12 royal trophies for the competition. A further 229 honorary trophies will be awarded, with total prize money exceeding THB4 million.
The event will take place on November 28–29, 2026, and has attracted 71,435 runners across four distances: 42.195km, 21.1km, 10km and 4.5km. Kenya's world-renowned marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge will take part for the third consecutive year.
Narissara said BTS was delighted to help provide transport for participants in Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2026.
In cooperation with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, BTS will extend train operating hours on November 28–29 and deploy staff at stations to maintain safety and assist passengers.
The organisers expect at least 120,000 people to attend, including runners, accompanying visitors, officials and members of the public.
The event is expected to generate significant revenue for Thailand's economy and tourism sector.
Narissara encouraged participants to use rail transport, describing it as a convenient and efficient way to travel while helping to reduce traffic congestion during the event.
