The development is located on 33 rai (5.2 hectares) of oceanfront land on the west coast of Krabi and will involve three phases.
Scheduled for completion midway through next year, the first phase will feature 90 condominium units with one to three bedrooms at prices ranging from Bt6 million to Bt14 million. The other two phases will involve 40 villas and a five-star hotel.
Upon completion, The Pelican Krabi will also offer resort facilities, including a free-form swimming pool, a fitness centre, meeting facilities and a snack bar.
Jones Lang LaSalle’s head of estate management Dexter Norville said his company was expecting Krabi to become more popular over the next few years as it was increasingly seen as an alternative destination to Phuket and Koh Samui.
The growing reputation of Krabi and its international airport will help to bring more tourist arrivals each year, and Thais and foreigners alike looking to purchase a holiday home or retire in Thailand may well choose Krabi, he said.
Property and asset management is one of Jones Lang LaSalle’s fastest-growing businesses. The firm is the largest international property and asset-management service provider in Thailand, with a portfolio of 3.9 million square metres of real estate and corporate facilities under its management in Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and now, Krabi.
