“Thailand is essential for what SUS Corp is doing and plans to do in this part of the world. SUS has grown through active development and utilisation of aluminium. Our aim is to bring innovations into production systems and lifestyles and at the same time to contribute to society. Thailand has played a very big part in helping us achieve these goals,” Yasuo Ishida, SUS Corp representative director and president of SUS (Thailand) Co, said last week.
Thailand is SUS’ operating base for Asia. From its beginnings here in 2000 with a focus on manufacturing and marketing FA aluminium equipment parts and machinery, the company has seen very large and continuous growth, with sales reaching Bt1.5 billion last year.
Ecoms, with its exceptional innovations, allows for significant reduction in construction limitations.
Aluminium architecture technology will also be introduced here this year with the development of a floating house to help solve the problem of housing in flood-prone areas.
With a capital expenditure budget of Bt1.45 billion, work has commenced on increasing the capacity of the Lamphun factory to accommodate the increased demands and various products being introduced in the country.
SUS has acquired a 164-rai site in Lamphun to combine its various operations in the northern province at one location. By 2017 it will have built “AluminumLand”, a centre handling everything from aluminium frames to accessory parts manufacture and assembly, all at one central location in Thailand.
SUS will continue its commitment to the community, especially in the North where the factory is located. It is collaborating with Chiang Mai University to produce police boxes using aluminium architecture technology.
