The number of Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia crossed 7.55 million, with 90,856 new cases reported on Tuesday, higher than Monday’s tally of 76,320. There were 2,706 more deaths, decreasing from Monday’s 2,783 and taking total coronavirus deaths in Asean to 155,906 so far.

BANGKOK - Singapore will contribute US$100,000 (S$135,000) to Aseans humanitarian assistance unit as it begins preparations to provide aid to Myanmar, Singapores Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said on Monday (Aug 2) after meeting his counterparts from the region.

Singapore, July 29, 2021 - Companies in Southeast Asia raised a record $4.9 billion through initial public offerings (IPOs) in the first six months of 2021, based on Bloombergs latest equity capital markets data. $4.1 billion was raised through additional and rights offerings. The amount raised by these companies through the equity capital markets jumped 50% compared to the same period in 2019, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
