Pilgrimage to Phimai

The folks in Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima province, indulge their love of heritage and history over the "Visit Phimai Festival", which runs from November 7 to 11.

Visitors can see a light & sound cultural show, enjoy a Korat Cat competition as well as a boat race and many fun activities. The festival will take place at Phimai Historical Park, home to one of the most important Khmer temples in Thailand. The temple marks one end of the Ancient Khmer Highway from Angkor.

Making like Ironman
Feeling strong? Then sign up for Laguna Phuket Triathlon on November 25 and Ironman 70.3 on December 2. Part of the week-long “Tri-Fest”, the two races will be taking place at Laguna Phuket Resort - where the weekend “warriors” could flex their muscle with professional athletes at a series of training and social events.

Mekong magic
During the full moon in October, crowds of speculators gather on the bank of Mekong River in Nong Khai to witness the curious and enigmatic phenomenon known as the “naga fireball”. Last October, more than 100 mysterious fireballs shot up into the air above the mighty Mekong, and the debate goes on whether they’re paranormal phenomena, a hoax or a tourist trap. The fireballs, if any, are expected to return to Mekong on October 30 – the night before the Halloween.
