The Mon-speaking community in Sangkhla Buri district of Kanchanaburi province is holding a merit-making ceremony this Saturday night. The ritual will draw thousands of ethnic Mon to Wat Wang Wiwekaram for the annual “Bho Tree Bathing” ceremony and offers a great chance to spend time with these good-natured people as well as learn about their culture.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently hosted leading fashion designers, design students, bloggers and the press in a discovery of Thailand’s textile heritage. The five-day “Thailand Academy III” trip started at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles in Bangkok and took participants to different parts of the country to experience the country’s finest cottons and silks.
