TIP0113:
Godzilla on the rooftop
Sleeping with a monster
Godzilla is one of the most famous monsters in film history. Now, fans in Tokyo, which Godzilla destroyed with his fiery breath, can go to sleep with the famous beast. The Gracery Shinjuku hotel offers its guests a Godzilla room with everything a Godzilla fan could want, ranging from a sculpted Godzilla, film photos and exclusive memorabilia to a replica of the Oxygen Destroyer, which killed the first Godzilla. The monster’s huge head is visible from other rooms too. The fake Godzilla used to look down from the roof of a cinema owned by the Toho film studio, which released Godzilla in 1954 and is planning a comeback film with the monster next year.

Luxury, the Langham way
Langham Hospitality Group has signed a deal to manage the Langham Place resort in Bali, Indonesia, which is scheduled to open in 2017. Perched atop a cliff in the famed Ungasan-Uluwatu area on the island’s southern peninsula, this property marks the Hong Kong-based hotel company’s first luxury resort in Asia under its Langham Hotels & Resorts collection. All 173 rooms, suites and villas will have outdoor terraces where guests can take advantage of Bali’s year-round tropical climate and enjoy panoramic ocean views. Fifty-six of the villas and suites will also boast their own private plunge pools. The famed Uluwatu temple, one of Bali’s most important cultural landmarks, is within a 30-minute drive from the resort. Bali’s international airport is just 40 minutes away.
A stronger link
Vietjet has unveiled plans to launch a new domestic route between Da Nang and Hai Phong, with operations scheduled to begin next month. Located to the east of Hanoi, Hai Phong is Vietnam’s third largest city and one of the most developed coastal cities in the country. With a flight duration of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, the schedule will see the airline depart Hai Phong at 11.25am and Da Nang at 1.20pm daily. Vietjet currently operates 150 flights per day with a fleet of 23 Airbus aircraft across 31 routes domestically and internationally.
Music to the ears
Emirates is enhancing its in-flight entertainment experience for Economy Class passengers with the launch of new, redesigned headsets. From the end of June, all Emirates A380 aircraft will be equipped with new headsets, with plans to roll out the headsets on the Boeing 777 fleet later in the year. These headsets have been totally redesigned with a view to improving sound quality, reduction of ambient cabin noise and overall comfort. The headset’s rectangular shape makes it more ergonomic for the wearer, and premium leatherette ear cushions enhance comfort, which is especially important on longer flights.
