Phu Chaisai Mountain Resort & Spa receives Orbitz eco-friendly recommendation

Instead of TV or an alarm clock, Phu Chaisai provided instead tea and organic vegetables.

The hotel, owned by M L Sudaodi Kriengkrai, known as an organic activist, is often fully booked during winter.

"We stayed only two nights in this wonderful mountain resort next to Chiang Rai with great bamboo architecture and a stunning view over the mountains from the restaurant and our room. We had a classic bamboo cottage, really nice and clean. The breakfast is really good with self-made bread and also the food in the restaurant and the buffet was really good. You can go up to the resort's own vegetable farm and herbal garden, where they grow their own food for cooking. The staff and manager are really nice and helpful and try to make every wish come true. The area of the resort is beautiful nature with hiking trails through the mountains. We have been lucky - because of a special Buddhist day in Thailand; horse-riding monks from a mountain temple nearby came around in the morning for a blessing. A wonderful experience - we will come back for sure."
