Dry and warmer for most of Thailand, heavy rain for the South

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2023

Temperatures will rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius in most of the country today (November 22) as the cold air mass over Thailand continues to weaken.

The northeast monsoon, which is currently affecting the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region, will bring heavy rain to some parts of southern Thailand. The seas in the lower Gulf of Thailand will be choppy with waves 1-2 metres high. Waves in the Andaman Sea will be about 1 metre high, and likely to exceed 2 metres in areas with thunderstorms.

The weather bureau advises southern residents to be cautious of heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding and landslides, especially near rivers and low-lying areas. Fishing boats and other vessels should stay out of areas with thunderstorms.
