Temperatures rise with morning fog in the North, rain in the South

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2023

Thailand will experience an increase in temperatures of 1-2 degrees Celsius today (November 23) as the moderate high-pressure system covering the country continues to weaken, the Thai Meteorological Department says.

Cool temperatures and morning fog are however expected in the North, the Northeast, Central including Bangkok metropolitan area, the East and the upper South regions. The North can also expect isolated patches of dense fog, the department said.

People should take care of their health and beware of fires due to strong winds and dry air, the department warned, adding that motorists should take more caution in foggy areas.

Meanwhile, the moderate northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will bring isolated heavy rains to the lower part of the South’s east coast. People in the lower South should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along foothills, near waterways and in low-lying areas

For sea conditions, waves in the Gulf and the Andaman could rise to 1–2 metres high and over 2 metres high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep away from thundershowers, the department said.
