Thai embassy warns travellers to Belgium, Luxembourg to be careful of pickpockets

Thai embassy warns travellers to Belgium, Luxembourg to be careful of pickpockets

The Thai embassy in Brussels has issued a notice calling on all Thai travellers to Belgium and Luxembourg to beware of pickpockets, especially in crowded places like train stations.

The embassy said travellers should particularly be careful with their passports and can call the embassy hotline at (+32) 470 859 667 if they require assistance.

The notice, issued on Wednesday, was prompted by a surge in criminal activity in the two countries recently. These include gang-related shootings, free trade of cocaine and even cases of human trafficking.

Small-scale robberies and attacks on tourists have also been making the headlines recently.
