Myanmar-China oil and gas pipeline control station invaded and wrecked by armed groups in Kyaukme Township: SAC
A control station of the Myanmar-China oil and natural gas pipeline in Kyaukme Township of Shan State (North) was invaded and destroyed by armed groups, said Major General Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council.
Taking about the destruction, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said that MNDAA, TNLA and AA groups carried out such an attack with intent to harm the interests of the two countries.
“Those TNLA, and AA allied groups invaded a China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline control station near Zipin village in Kyaukme Township, Shan State (North) from November 15 to 18, and then vandalized the communication equipment, security equipment and other equipment inside the control station. Officials of the Ministry of Energy and security forces had to repair them in time,'' he said.
Currently, the MNDAA, TNLA and AA groups are even disturbing the China-Myanmar oil and gas pipeline, which serves strategic economic and friendly relations between the two countries, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun added.
"It was done to harm the interests of the two countries. "I would like to say that the Myanmar government has increased security at the natural gas pipeline sites and is making concerted efforts to ensure safety," he said.
MNDAA, TNLA and AA groups committed subversive acts such as blowing up bridges, placing roadblocks and destroying roads along the Mandalay-Muse Union Road, which serves the best interests of the two countries’ economic and communicative relations. These issues have affected the bilateral economy, communication, socio-economy and social life, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said.
