Jakkrawan, a veteran player in Thailand’s technology sector, has announced its first corporate rebranding in over 50 years. The company is pivoting towards advanced digital and security solutions as it executes a roadmap to list on the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) by 2027.
Formerly known as Universal Communication Systems Co., Ltd., the company has officially renamed itself Jakkrawan Advanced Technology Co., Ltd. The move is designed to modernize its image and reflect its evolution from a traditional communications contractor to a full-service system integrator.
A 50-Year Evolution Founded in 1972 as a small ICT trading firm, Jakkrawan has grown alongside Thailand’s infrastructure. Today, it employs roughly 75 staff, including 40 engineers, and has shifted its focus toward high-level system integration.
"We want our name to reflect who we are today," said Supich Ansvananda, CEO of Jakkrawan Advanced Technology. "This transformation reinforces our role as a trusted partner for organizations navigating complex digital and security challenges."
Focus on Security and Innovation The company now operates on three core business pillars, with Homeland Security generating the largest share of revenue (46.05%), followed by Public Safety (26.73%) and ICT (22.85%).
Key milestones in its transformation include:
Strategic Partnerships: Appointed as a Key Industrial Partner (KIP) for French defense giant Thales.
Emerging Tech: expanding into anti-drone systems to counter modern security threats.
Standards: Achieving ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 certification and corporate governance compliance.
"Drones are a new type of threat that will play a much bigger role in the future," Mr. Supich noted, emphasizing the company's ability to bridge the gap between global technology providers and local government needs.
Future Growth and IPO With over 95% of its client base in the government and military sectors, Jakkrawan is now looking to expand its footprint into neighboring markets, specifically Laos, to tap into infrastructure growth.
Despite challenges regarding political stability and technology shifts, the company is bullish on its financial outlook. Jakkrawan projects sales to hit 1 billion baht in 2026, driven by new projects and expanded partnerships.
"This rebranding is a foundation for our next stage of growth," Mr. Supich concluded. "It prepares us for the capital market and reinforces our commitment to Thailand’s sustainable development."
