Puripol finishes first in 9.95 to reach Asian Games 100m semi-finals

Young Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson, also known as “Bew”, tried to pull away from his rivals before finishing first in Heat 1 of the men’s 100m qualifying round in 9.95 seconds at 8.08pm local time on Thursday (September 24, 2026).
The result at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan sent him through to the semi-finals of the 20th Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026.
Jirapat Khanonta, also known as “Bell”, finished first in Heat 2 of the women’s 100m qualifying round with a personal best of 11.45 seconds at 7.41pm local time, securing her place in the semi-finals.
Sukanda Petraksa, also known as “Too”, also advanced to the women’s 100m semi-finals after finishing third in Heat 1 in 11.54 seconds at 7.33pm local time.
The women’s 100m semi-finals will be held on Friday (September 25, 2026) at 5.13pm Thailand time, followed by the men’s semi-finals at 5.33pm.
Both events will be broadcast live on NBT, T Sports 7, Channel 9 MCOT HD and AIS PLAY.
