Chinese information and communications technology company Huawei has appointed Qiang Hua as its new managing director for Thailand.

A veteran in the ICT business, he started working at Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen in 1998 as a senior engineer for the new business department, after earning his bachelor’s degree in measurement science from the Hefei University of Technology.
Before his Thailand appointment, he worked in Beijing as Huawei’s China regional president in charge of the country’s eastern provinces. In 2012, he was assigned to Hangzhou as managing director of Huawei’s representative office in Zhejiang province.
“Huawei is experiencing tremendous growth in the country, and I am very happy to accompany Thailand, one of our most important markets, in its target to become the ICT hub of the region,” he said.
“We will continue to invest sustainably and to provide our full support to help the Thai people, using the most innovative and competitive ICT technologies, products and solutions.
“We are committed to work in close cooperation with all partners including the government, the ICT industry and all sectors of society to help the country in the development of a digital economy and Thailand 4.0.”
