11 NBTC commissioners selected

The 11 new NBTC members are:

1) Natee Sukonlrat, National Telecommunications Commission commissioner

2) Supinya Klangnarong of the Campaign for Popular Media Reform

3) ACM Taresh Poonsri, a former Air Force officer

4) Election Commission secretary-general Suthiphon Thaveechaiygarn

5) Gen Sukit Khamasundara, special adviser at the Royal Thai Armed Forces headquarters

6) Col Setthapong Malisuwan, a telecom officer of the Defence Ministry's Radio and TV Broadcast and Telecom Office

7) Pol Col Thaweesak Ngamsanga, a former police district station chief from Khon Kaen

8) Lt Gen Piraphong Manakit, an advisor to the Defence Permanent Secretariat

9) Prasert Silpipat, an academic from King Prajadipok Institute

10) Thawatchai Jitphanon, director of Chulalongkorn University's Computer Centre

11) Prawit Lisathapornwongsa, director of the Telecom Consumer Protection Office of the NTC Office.

They 11 winners were selected from a list of 44 candidates by secret balloting.

The 11 members will serve a 6-year term.
