Deutsche Bank employs about 140 staff in Thailand.
Krings will be in charge of all of Deutsche Bank’s business lines in Thailand and relationships with regulators and other institutions.
He will be a key interface with customers.
He will report to Robert Rankin, chief executive officer for Asia-Pacific excluding Japan.
“Frank brings significant depth of global financial-services experience and expertise to the region and to Thailand. He is very well placed to lead our rapidly expanding business in Thailand, which is an important part of the bank’s regional growth strategy,” Rankin said yesterday.
Krings rejoined Deutsche Bank after serving as a management board member and chief operating officer at Munich-based Hypo Real Estate and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank from October 2008 to last December.
Krings had spent 12 years with Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and New York.
He also served on the statutory boards of several of Deutsche Bank’s subsidiaries and affiliates across Europe and held senior management positions within internal mergers-and-acquisitions and strategy groups.
