SET opens as usual

The Stock Exchange of Thailand will operate as usual on Tue, Oct 25 despite floods in several areas in Bangkok.

SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said that the exchange has ensured that the trading system and manpower is ready. With assurance from all brokers, the trading on equities, bonds and futures will proceed as usual.
"We are confident our of the system and manpower. We have continuously monitored the situation and worked with brokerage houses. A back-up centre as well as back-up plans are in place, to cope with any events which could prevent our staff from coming to work at the office on Ratchadapisek Road," he said.

Investors, with trading demand during this period, are advised to bring their paper share certificates to the depository unit, to facilitate transactions. They should also stand ready for automatic money transfers, for the payments or for margin calls. They are also advised to keep close contacts with their brokers for updates.
