Special hotel rates

The Thai Hotels Association has joined with 31 member hotels in Bangkok to offer special room rates of between Bt600 to Bt1,200 per night to flood victims.
Meanwhile, Tourism and Sports Minister Chumpol Silapa-archa said the number of inbound tourists had declined by 7,000 per day to 33,000 a day during the flooding crisis.

Info software takes off
The Asia-Pacific market for information-management software will see revenues of US$6.01 billion by 2015, a compound annual growth rate of 11.57 per cent, from the $3.88 billion (Bt120 billion) it will reach at the end of this year, predicts Ovum.
In a new forecast, the independent technology analyst finds that the strong growth will be driven by enterprises realising information-management software’s vital role in their corporate performance.
Ovum lead analyst Nishant Singh commented: “The information-management market has been growing steadily over the past five years, with enterprises continuing to make investments despite the global recession. However, the next five will see the market really starting to take off, with strong growth across the globe.”
