President Apisak Tantivorawong said that the smooth operations are assured by backup offices in Chon Buri and Nakhon Ratchasima. The IT centre, located in sufficiently-high ground, is manned 24 hour.
"The headquarter on Sukhumvit Road is quite a safe zone and the bank has prepared preventive measures. Should there is any uncontrollable event, we will move to the backup offices," he said.
Of over 1,000 branches, 34 are now closed due to floods. To facilitate clients in the areas, the bank has introduced nearly 100 mobile units (KTB on the Move). Of total 8,000 ATMs, 53 are damaged and 320 are in high-water areas. More would discontinue services only when the power is cut off or when no new cash could be delivered to the areas.
All employees unable to leave home are allowed to take days off, plus accommodation and travelling allowance. They will be offered home repair loans.
