Normal public utilities services

The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has promised normal services though the inner city of Bangkok is threatened by floods.

The MWA said in a statement that the services would be normal, but the tapwater output would be cut as a result of water quality improvement programme. However, transmission pressure would be heightened during 6-9pm particularly to feed high-rise buildings. Pressure as well as output would be cut during the day and in the evening. "Though, the tapwater production is running 24 hours," it said.
The Bangkok Port is also open for container services during Oct 28-31, though the government declared the period as special holidays for the government sector. Import-oriented services however will be suspended during the period.
However, Port Authority of Thailand's Chalermchai Meekhuniam urged exporters/importers to use services at Laem Chabang, given the congestion at the Bangkok Port.
