NBTC appointment spurs a conflict

Sutipol Taweechaikarn, a member of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), on Wednesday resigned as the body's spokesman.

In his statement, he said that on Nov 9 when he was on an overseas trip, the NBTC appointed Supinya Klangnarong as a spokeswoman. He is of the view that the body should have only one spokesman, to avoid causing public confusion. Despite his resignation from the title, he is ready to cooperate in disseminating information on a case by case basis.
"I did not resign on any pressure or remorse, but I want to maintain NBTC's unity in information dissemination as at other professional bodies. I'm also loaded with tasksto improve telecommunications rules and regulations and to draft NBTC administrative rules. I support the able Supinya as the only spokeswoman, for the sake of NBTC's public recognition," he said.
