Don Mueang reopens in April

Don Mueang Airport would resume commercial operations on April 1, 2012, said Airports of Thailand president Aniruth Thanomkulbutr.

Rehabilitation work is underway to restore utilities services, while inspection of both runways shows that they are not damaged by the floods, he said.
He said that it is upto the two airlines, which operated at Don Mueang prior to the floods, when they would resume the operations. At present, they operate at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Aniruth added that the Bangkok old airport has witnessed a large number of birds after the floods, which brought about a school of fish.
The Big Cleaning was organised at the airport today.
