The Information and Communications Technology Ministry will kick off the first phase of free high-speed Wi-Fi service in 10,000 spots nationwide tomorrow.
TOT and CAT Telecom will jointly provide this service, which will be expanded to 20,000 spots next month as part of the government’s policy of promoting equal broadband service access. ICT Minister Anudith Nakornthap said in the second phase it would be expanded to 40,000 spots.
Assurance on gas
PTT yesterday issued assurance that the supply of natural gas between December 29 and January 6 would not be disrupted or reduced by the annual maintenance of the Yetagun gas field in Burma. The supply from Yetagun will be partially substituted by gas from the Gulf of Thailand to ensure no disruption to power-generating and industrial plants.
